The first thing you notice about Amsterdam has nothing to do with drugs, the red light district or even clogs. The most striking quality of this capital city is instead the fact it’s brimming with culture and history, something which is palpable from its both its architecture and its abundance of museums. Although it’s true that Amsterdam has featured prominently in the news recently with its plans to ban “drug tourism” and while for a lot of visitors, drugs are the flame luring them towards the Netherlands, this city has much more to offer those migrating for the summer than just its designated coffee shops and illuminated “window displays”.
