With a population of over 213,000 inhabitants, Eindhoven is a large city in the south of the Netherlands. It experience rapid and relatively recent urban growth with the advent of the Philips electronics company. The city lays claim to some impressive museums, including the Van Abbemuseum, the MU Artspace and the Philips First Incandescent Lamp Factory. There are also some examples of technical architecture which are tribute to the city's innovative heritage.
