Guide to Bergen

map
Located on the Bergen peninsula and surrounded by islands, the city of Bergen is the second largest in Norway, and has a total population of over 240,000 people living in its urban areas. A former European Capital of Culture, the city's quayside is a recognised World Heritage Site. It's also one of Europe's largest ports. As well as host to international culture festivals including Bergen International Festival and Nattjazz, there are art museums, a fortress and the colourful Bryggen to explore. Don't miss a voyage on the Statsraad Lehmkuhl, a barque sailing vessel which dates back to 1914.
