One of the largest cities in Siberia, Irkutsk in Russia has a total population of 593,000 inhabitants, and was settled on the Angara River, 72 kilometres from Lake Baikal and split across the cityscape by the Ida River. Its found in the east of Siberia, and is neighboured by the tons of Shelekhov and Angarsk, and is known for its wide streets, ornate architecture and as a place of cultural heritage. Gape at the astounding minarets of the Vladimir Monastery, and wander the city's central park in winter, where some beautiful ice sculptures appear.
