Kobarid is little town nearby emerald beauty Soca River. Soca is alpine river and is famous for its green-blue colour and for its purity.

 

Furthermore, Soca is paradise for lovers of adrenaline water sports (rafting, kayak, hydrospeed) and also for fishermen. In Soca River lives unique trout species called Salmo trutta marmoratus (also known as the marble trout). Marble trout is also the biggest trout on the world. The largest marble trout found measured 121cm in length and weighed 25kg.

 

In Kobarid, there is famous museum of the First World War. Visitors of the museum can see how pointless and horrible war is.  The exhibits tell with sensitivity the tale of the difficult and bloody times near the Soča River.
