Widely acknowledged as one of the best art museums in the world the Prado is definitely worth a visit while you are in Madrid. Not to be missed exhibitions include Velazquez, Goya and Hieronymus Bosch. If you want to avoid the 8 euro entrance fee, visit between 6 and 8 when entry is free. You will still need a ticket and it can get busy so try and get there around 5.45 to be ahead of the queue.
