Menorca is the second largest island in the Balearic archipelago, and sits like an apostrophe over the larger Mallorca. The island is much less developed and better preserved than its big sister, with sections of coast and beautiful coves protected from development. Resorts are nevertheless plentiful at a distance from the two main towns, mainly concentrated on the north and south coasts. But the natural beauty, culture and seclusion available will suit those looking for a different kind of holiday, whilst water sports, postcard beaches and excursion options provide plenty of family recreation.
