Guide to Bern

map
The fourth most populous city in Switzerland, with 133,000 residents, Bern is the capital city and its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its famous Zytglogge is a medieval bell with moving puppets. The city has also had its own bear pit since the 16th century, a tradition which can still be seen today, and thankfully much more humanely implemented since 2008, when a new bear park was designed.
