Guide to Lucerne

map
With a population of 72,000 people Lucerne in northern Switzerland is a medium sized city, on the shore of Lake Lucerne and framed by the formidable Alpine peaks of Mount Pilatus and Rigi. Famous for being proximate to the site of William Tell's apple fable, it's also notoriously picturesque, voted the fifth most popular destination in the world by Tripadvisor. Don't miss the 14th century wooden Chapel Bridge or the Swiss Transport Museum.
