Located on the mouth of the River Tweed, by the eastern coast of England, lies the historic Northumbrian town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. With a total population of 11,000, the town is well-known for being only 2.5 miles shy of the Scottish Border, and having traditional border town features, including ramparts and barracks. There are also several picturesque bridges, including the Royal Border Bridge, a viaduct with 28 arches. Don't miss the old castle walls, which offer fantastic views of the townscape.
