Glasgow is Scotland's largest city, with a population of 600,000 people living in its urban areas. It is located on the banks of the River Clyde, towards the western coast of Scotland. Once known predominantly as an industrial city, it now wins accolades as a city of culture, and is a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Initiative.
