The largest city in the Scottish Highlands, Inverness is situated on the mouth of the River Ness and is in close proximity to the Great Glen. It's also the most northerly city in the UK, with a population of 60,890 people. Its famous as the site of two historical battles, the battle of Blar Nam Feinne and the Battle of Culloden.
