Guide to Oxford

map
In the south of England, home to the world-renowned University of the same name lies the city of Oxford. It is located on the rivers Cherwell and Thames, and is situated around 50 miles north of London. Its many medieval churches and examples of fine Gothic architecture have earned it the name "city of spires". Wander the colleges of Balliol and Merton to see some of the oldest university buildings in the world, sample the flora at the Oxford Botanical Gardens, and don't miss the opportunity to punt along the river from Magdalen Bridge for a challenging afternoon!
