Train from Koh Samui to Bangkok

Ferries depart Koh Samui for Don Sak hourly where they are met by shuttle buses to Surat Thani train station. From Surat Thani there is a day train departing at 1040 (arrives Bangkok 1945). From 1646 onwards there are then regular trains travelling through the night to Bangkok, try and take later ones to avoid getting into Bangkok in the very early hours of the morning. Combined ferry, shuttle bus and train tickets can be purchased for around 1000 baht.
