Over night trains depart Bangkok for Surat Thani at 1930 and 2250 taking around 10 hours. At Surat Thani the train is met by shuttle buses to the docks at Don Sak. Ferry depart Don Sak hourly for Koh Samui, with a journey time of around 1.5 hours. A combination ticket for train, shuttle bus and ferry can be purchased at the train station in Bangkok for around 1000 baht.
