map
With a population of around 30,000 people, the town of Bethlehem lies in the southern Judean Mountains, around 73 kilometres north of the Mediterranean Sea and is composed of around 8 quarters. Famous as the birthplace of Jesus Christ's, Bethlehem is home to the Church of Nativity, which draws Christian pilgrims from all over the world. Other biblical sites include Rachel's Tomb, the Shepherd's Fields, and the beautiful Solomon's Pools in the nearby Artas Valley. Don't miss Christmas in Bethlehem, for a truly spiritual atmosphere.
