Guide to Beirut

map
Lebanon's capital city, Beirut sits on a peninsula on the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by the Lebanon Mountains. It has a total population of 1.9 million people living in its urban area. Beirut is well known as a lively, cosmopolitan city, for being fairly high-end, and for its outdoor cafe culture. Head to Pigeon Rocks to watch the sun sink below the horizon, or Jeita Grotto to check out the beautiful crystallised caves within.
