The Arab State of Oman is located on the south of the Arabian Peninsula, bordered by the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. It has a total population of 2.7 million people, and its capital is Muscat. Known for its rapid development and growing tourism, Oman has some incredible historic forts including Bahla, a World Heritage Site and a former oasis town. There are also dunes at the Wahiba sands to explore and rugged, beautiful scenery inland. Head to the beaches of Masirah Island for a chance to spot sea turtles!
