Guide to Syria

In Western Asia, to the west of Jordan and the south of Turkey lies the country of Syria, washed by the Mediterranean Sea and riven by the river Euphrates. Syria has a total population of 22 million inhabitants, and its capital is Damascus. At present, the country is in a state of significant political crisis, and certain areas have travel warnings. As well as the beautiful Crac des Chevaliers castle, a glistening white arched fortification, the ancient mosque of Umayyad Mosque in Damascus is particularly pretty, and there are over 700 picturesque towns in Aleppo to discover.
