Guide to Banff

map
Around 78 kilometres from Calgary, and surrounded by the Canadian Rockies lies the town of Banff, a resort at the confluence of the Bow and Spray Rivers, at a dizzying altitude of 4,800 feet. It has a total population of 7,500 inhabitants, and its national park has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for its astounding scenery, top-class ski resorts and historic hot springs, there's a wealth of activity on offer, in winter or summer. Don't miss a trip up Sulphur Mountain in the Banff Gondola for inimitable Kodak moments!
