The third largest city in Tennessee, Knoxville has a population of 178,000 people in its urban area. It's located in the Great Appalachian Valley, riven by the Tennessee River, and close to the Smoky Mountains National Park. A place of tremendous regeneration in recent years, some quirky diversions include the Candy Factory, the World's fair park and the Museum of East Tennessee History.
