In this small but inviting Soho bistro, simplicity and seasonality are the key ingredients. The dim lighting, exposed brickwork and communal tables give Salt a relaxed, homely atmosphere – perfect for low-key dinners with friends. Couples linger over dessert at cosy window tables, while solo diners can eat undisturbed at the bar. Native New Yorker Melissa O’Donnell has created a quirky American menu where you can either go a la carte or ‘pick a protein’ like duck breast or hanger steak and then add two side dishes. We love the skate with truffle-mushroom broth and the cavatappi pasta with homemade Italian sausage and mushrooms. With a thoughtfully compiled wine list and friendly service as part of the package, Salt is guaranteed to impress.
