Guide to Sacramento

map
California's oldest city, and sixth largest, Sacramento has a population of 466,000 inhabitants. Enjoying a Mediterranean climate, the city is irrigated by the Sacramento and American Rivers, and connected to the San Francisco Bay. One of the most diverse cities in the United States, Sacramento was once a pioneer town which boomed in the Gold Rush. Head to the Railroad Museum for a glimpse into its past, or head to its Jazz festival on Memorial Day weekend.
