Guide to Santiago

map
With a population of around 6.6 million inhabitants, Santiago is easily the largest city in Chile, as well as its capital. It falls between the Andes and the Chilean Coastal Range, and is shadowed by the nearby volcano of Tupungato. The city is well known as being highly developed and modern, as well as being the cultural core of the country. Visit the many Jazz clubs located around the city, sample some local Chilean wine, or head to one of the nearby ski resorts to sample some Andean skiing.
