Q: I have heard that it is possible to take a boat from Colombia to Panama though I am slightly concerned about safety and length of time. Does anyone know much about this? Is it actually possible and how long does it take? (1 answers)

Security in Colombia

Security in Columbia is much imporved gone are the check points throughout most of the roads and infact unless you pursue activities that would be considered unwise in any country that is not your own you are unlikely to get in to any trouble.  Basically keep away from the shanty towns and keep away from the jungle areas controlled by the drugs trade and you will have an excellant time in this great country.  The goverment has made huge inroads and amde the place much more peaceful. I would recommend a nightout in Cartegena or Bogota without hesitation.
