Guide to Pisco

map
Only nine metres above sea level, the medium sized town of Pisco lies on the southern coastline of Peru, to the south of its capital, Lima. Well connected to the Ballestas Islands the city is known for its alcoholic beverage of the same name, a grape brandy produced in both Chile and Peru which is produced in the nearby vineyards. Don't miss the Paracas Candelabra, a giant rock motif carved into the northern face of the Paracas Peninsula, said represent the staff of the god Viracocha!
