Q: I've just read that the Thai government has extended the state of emergency in Bangkok. Does that mean that there is still trouble going on there? I thought it had calmed down? (1 answers)

Visa Requirements for Thailand


Visa Free Travel  
 
Passport holders of the following nations can enter Thailand visa free for up to 30 days: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bahrain, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland Israel, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Vietnam

Those wishing to stay longer in Thailand will have to apply for a visa.

You must have at least 10,000 Baht or 20,000 Baht per family to qualify for this.

Visa on arrival for up to 15 days can be obtained by nationals holding the following passports: Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Czech, Estonia, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Maldives, Mauritius, Oman, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Kingdom of Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, India, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Maldives, Mauritius, Oman, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Ukraine.

You must have at least 10,000 Baht or 20,000 Baht per family to qualify for this.

For travellers wishing to stay longer a visa (up to 60 days) will be required.

Visa requirements for applications in the UK:

Passport Valid for at least 6 months
Completed application form
2 passport photos
Visa Fee of £28

When leaving Thailand from an airport you will be required to pay a 500 Baht departure tax this is done a counter before going through passport control.
