Guide to Ayutthaya

map
The city of Ayutthaya has a population of 54,000 people, and lies in the Chao Praya River Valley, in the Central Plains of Thailand. Ayutthaya was once the trading capital of Asia. The city area forms an island, ensphered by the confluence of three rivers. The magnificent ruins of its temples and palaces offer a wealth of culture and history. Don't miss the Chedi at Wat Phu Khao Thong climb to the top of the building for some magnificent views of the surrounding area.
