Near the Gulf of Thailand's western shoreline, the small island of Koh Tao or Ko Tao lies, receiving over 100,00 visitors per year for all its 21km of square land space. It has a population of 1382 people, and is well known for its fantastic scuba diving (Ko Tao translates directly as Turtle Island).
