Guide to Ha Long Bay

map
A recognised UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ha Long Bay translates as "descending dragon bay" and can be found in north-eastern Vietnam, with a coastline 120 kilometres long. It belongs to Ha Long City, and also includes almost 2000 islets. The best way to see the area is on a pre-purchased tour. These might include kayaking, cave visits, and some companies might even include a helicopter ride over the bay! Don't miss the beaches of Quan Lan and Bai Chay, where tourists can relax n white sands after their adventures!

Local Transport

You can find your way to Halong Bay by public transport and it is very low cost; however, it can be complicated and take a long time wioth many transfers and unless you speak Vietnamese, it can be very confusing. The best option is to join an organized tour or hire a private car.
